REI: Path Ahead Ventures: Pitch
We are seeking U.S. based companies that inspire and equip people in their outdoor lives through products, services, and experiences. We focus on supporting founders of color across Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and AAPI communities.
Core investment criteria
1. Management team with at least one full-time founder of color – Black, Latina/o/x, Indigenous, Asian American, Pacific Islander
2. Building in the outdoor, fitness, health and wellness, or sustainability markets
- Apparel, Footwear, Gear
- Experiences and Services
- Consumer Technology
- Consumer Packaged Goods
- Sustainability
3. Post-market or generating revenue
4. Ability for Path Ahead Ventures and REI to provide strong added value and strategic alignment with the co-op
5. Company is incorporated in the United States or Canada

Founders of color represent only an estimated 1% of outdoor entrepreneurs. We can change that.
